With a EUR 9m loan to TBC Leasing, Proparco is assisting Georgian SMEs by supporting a tool, leasing, which is particularly suited to SMEs

Client presentation

TBC Leasing, which was set up in 2003 by TBC Bank, is the leader on the leasing market in Georgia. This financing tool is experiencing strong growth in the country and is particularly appreciated by SMEs, which make up two-thirds of TBC Leasing’s clients. 

Project description

The EUR 9m of financing with a 5-year maturity provided by Proparco will allow TBC Leasing to continue its growth while diversifying its refinancing partners (PROPARCO’s 1st loan).

Project impact

The project is strengthening the range of financing for the private sector in Georgia by supporting a tool, leasing, which is particularly suited to SMEs and complementary to traditional banking services. We estimate that Proparco’s financing will support over 100 additional SMEs, 200 direct jobs and over 3,700 indirect jobs over the term of the loan.
