The operation involves an equity investment by Proparco in OCS to finance the development of its activity, which creates jobs, and its growth in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Client presentation
Overseas Catering Services (OCS) was set up in 2009 by François Bonnot and René Lancien, founder of Ansamble Group, the leader in catering in France. OCS offers corporate catering services under the brand “Ansamble” to over 180 clients in 5 countries: Côte d'Ivoire, Mauritania, Morocco, Senegal and the UAE. The company has developed to become the second largest player in catering in Morocco, employing 3,300 people in the organization. In early 2021, OCS acquired Proxirest, the fifth largest caterer in Morocco. In addition to its catering services, the Group offers cleaning services in Senegal under the brand Alizés, and operates the Brioche Dorée and La Croissanterie franchises in Morocco.
Project description
The project involves the acquisition of OCS Group and financing the development of its activity. It aims to support the Group’s growth, in particular in Sub-Saharan Africa and in new vertical markets such as facility management.
Project impact
The main expected impacts of this project are:
- Support for some 8,400 direct and indirect jobs (seasonal and direct suppliers), including 2,400 jobs created at OCS.
- The development of mass catering services in geographical areas that are currently underserved.
- Support for the development of the local value chain, as the Group sources exclusively from local suppliers.
The project will thereby contribute to the achievement of SDG 8 (Decent work and economic growth) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the goals).
