Private Sector & Development: editorial line

Founded in 2009 by Proparco, Private Sector & Development (PS&D) is a magazine that aims to get a better grasp of the mechanisms through which the private sector can contribute to the development of southern countries. In each issue, PS&D compares the views of experts in different fields: researchers, private sector’s professionals, development institutions and civil society.
The aim of the magazine is to share know-how and best practices and boost sustainable development by encouraging private investment. The magazine spotlights the experience of Proparco, its networks and its private-sector partners. Since the magazine was launched, 48 issues have been published.
The magazine offers the possibility of sharing insights and views on the topics addressed by the magazine to authors from different fields: researchers, private sector’s professionals, development institutions and civil society.
For each issue, the magazine federates a team of coordinators who are committed to ensuring the quality and relevance of the articles. Coming from diverse backgrounds, all the coordinators share the same interest in development issues and the involvement of a sustainable, structuring private sector in southern countries.
By publishing, comparing and analyzing the ideas and experiences of investors who are directly involved in development issues, the Proparco's Private Sector & Development magazine aims to create a community of private-sector stakeholders whose investments are helping to improve the living conditions of people over the long term.
