Funding of $110 million will enable the Turkish agri-food company to expand its production and storage capacity in Türkiye and Kazakhstan, while helping to reduce food losses and energy consumption across the value chain.

As part of a $110 million syndicated loan arranged by FMO, Proparco is supporting Armada Gıda in making new investments. Part of the funding will be used to develop the Armada 3 and 4 plants in Mersin, Türkiye. These new production sites will be dedicated to the production and storage of flour, pasta and plant-based protein products, as well as other high value-added food products.

Specialising in cereals and pulses, Armada Gıda continues to expand its operations in Türkiye and internationally.

The funding will also enable Armada Gıda to expand its pulse processing capacity in Kazakhstan, where the group holds a majority stake in AC Agro. This project will, therefore help to secure its supply chain in Asia.

Furthermore, the new storage facilities will help to minimise food losses and reduce energy consumption.

“We are delighted to support Armada, a leading specialist Turkish agri-food company specializing in this sector through this funding. This operation will help to strengthen agri-food production capacity, particularly for pulse-based products, in Türkiye and the wider region, while supporting the reduction of energy consumption throughout the value chain," said Marie Garcin, Deputy Director of Proparco’s Industry, Agriculture and Services Division.
