Proparco has allocated a EUR 2.4m portfolio guarantee to Société Générale Ghana. The objective is to facilitate access to credit for microenterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the country.
Client presentation
Société Générale Ghana is a key player in financing entrepreneurship and the private sector. It is also a major partner of PROPARCO: this is the third time it has been allocated an ARIZ portfolio guarantee.
Project description
Proparco has allocated a GHS 15m (EUR 2.4m) portfolio guarantee to Société Générale Ghana to support its commitment to microenterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the country. The objective is to make it easier for it to finance local SMEs, especially those which lack collateral.
Project impact
By allowing Société Générale Ghana to increase its loans to local MSMEs, this operation will have a direct impact on inclusive economic growth, in line with Sustainable Development Goal n° 8 (Decent work and economic growth) and the Paris Agreement.
