The ARIZ guarantee, AFD’s risk-sharing mechanism, allocated to MCB Madagascar by PROPARCO is allowing it to continue to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the country.
Client presentation
Mauritius Commercial Bank Limited (MCB) Madagascar has been operating in the country since 1992. The bank employs 126 people there and has 10 branches, including 6 in the capital Antananarivo.
Project description
The portfolio guarantee allocated by Proparco will allow MCB Madagascar to offer loans with a 50% guarantee from AFD to SMEs in Madagascar.
Project impact
The guarantee will cover an SME loan portfolio of up to EUR 2m and thereby increase its financing for SMEs in Madagascar.
