Proparco and DEG have allocated financing to an Egyptian leasing company, Corplease, whose clients are mainly SMEs.
Client presentation
Corplease is the leader in the leasing market with a market share of about 20%. The company offers financing solutions for leasing assets such as real estate (offices, buildings, land), industrial and IT equipment, building, public works and handling equipment, and commercial vehicles.
Project description
The financing for Corplease is part of the Friendship Facility: DEG is lead arranger with USD 30m and Proparco is contributing USD 25m.
The project contributes to the economic development of Egypt by financing Corplease’s clients, mainly Egyptian SMEs.
Project impact
Over the next five years, the main expected impacts of this financing are:
- 1,965 jobs supported at Corplease and indirectly in the SMEs financed
- 4 jobs created at Corplease
The project should contribute to SDG 8 (“Decent work and economic growth”).
