The technical assistance grant allocated to COFINA Group will finance a study on agricultural value chains in Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali and Senegal, with the ultimate objective of implementing appropriate financing solutions.
Client presentation
The pan-African group COFINA (Compagnie Financière Africaine), a reference on the mesofinance market, operates in 7 West and Central African countries. It is now a key player in financing micro and medium-sized enterprises, including informal companies. COFINA Group’s companies target a client base underserved by the traditional financial system, by offering customized products and services that meet the specific needs of microenterprises and SMEs which have difficulties accessing financing.
Project description
The technical assistance project aims to assist COFINA Group with the study on agricultural value chains in Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali and Senegal. The objective is to implement appropriate financing solutions and contribute to the financial inclusion of players (MSMEs) in the agriculture sector in these countries.
Project impact
The project will allow each subsidiary to:
- Carry out a detailed diagnostic of the various operators in the sectors selected and their financial profile in order to identify which ones can be financed,
- Structure an appropriate range of financing to manage the risks and operational costs: creation of products, adaptation of the internal organization, staff training, recruitment of dedicated staff.
