Proparco is supporting AGRI-DEV Investment’s ambition of becoming the first solidarity-based investment company in Senegal and contributing to strengthening the agribusiness sector.
Client presentation
AGRI-DEV INVESTMENT aims to become the first solidarity-based investment company in Senegal. The company came about through a partnership between FADEV, COFIDES and TECH DEV and its mission is to contribute to building a successful and responsible private agribusiness sector. To address the needs identified, AGRI-DEV will offer producers seasonal and equipment loans, loans for working capital requirements (WCR), and a systematic guarantee for crop payments and crop insurance.
Project description
Proparco is supporting the structuring of AGRI-DEV INVESTMENT. The technical assistance provided by the service provider ClassM will identify opportunities in the sector, help consolidate the company’s economic model, and structure the entire presentation of the fund.
Project impact
AGRI-DEV INVESTMENT ultimately aims to support 100 companies, 50 cooperatives and thousands of producers in the sector of developing agricultural resources for market garden and subsistence crops. The structures supported by the fund should facilitate the creation of a vertical ecosystem in the agri-food value chain and reduce food losses throughout this chain.
