Client presentation
Cabo Verde Airports is a subsidiary of Vinci Airports, the concessionaire of Cape Verde’s seven airports for which it is managing the refurbishment and operation.
Project description
Proparco, alongside IFC and DEG, is financing the acquisition of the concession comprising Cape Verde’s seven airports and investments to refurbish facilities, with a focus on the safety and environmental aspects.
Project impact
The expected impacts of this project are as follows:
- Climate co-benefits from 20% of Proparco’s financing through the renewable energy investments, the installation of LED lighting, and the replacement of air-conditioning systems in the context of the refurbishment of the Cape Verde airports
- Support for 397 direct jobs and 1,989 indirect jobs
The project will contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) n° 8 (Decent work and economic growth), n° 9 (Industry, innovation and infrastructure) and n° 13 (Climate action).
