Proparco is supporting corn producers in Côte d'Ivoire with a long-established Ivorian microfinance institution, Advans CI. The EUR 230,000 grant will provide 1,500 small producers with access to credit and allow them to benefit from a package for corn growers.
Client presentation
Advans Côte d'Ivoire is an Ivorian microfinance institution and part of the Advans international network. It is a leading microfinance institution in Côte d'Ivoire and is very active in financing agriculture.
Project description
Proparco has allocated a EUR 230,000 grant to Advans Côte d'Ivoire to finance corn production through loans allocated to farmers and corn growers’ groups. The corn production campaign also comprises packages including seeds, fertilizers and phytosanitary products. The loans are combined with training for farmers in good farming practices. This initiative by Advans CI is in line with Proparco’s strategic priorities for food security.
Project impact
The project will support 1,500 small producers in the regions of Bouaké and Korhogo. This financing will also make it possible to continue this project on a larger scale.
